Felt is a journal. What you write in it is the most private thing you could hand an app, so the short version is: your entries stay on your phone, and we don’t keep them.
Felt is operated by Derek Robati, doing business as Orbita (“we”, “us”). This policy explains what the app and our servers do with your information. Questions go to support@orbitabuilt.com.
Everything you write — entry text, titles, the feelings Felt identifies, your history — is stored in a database on your device. We do not upload it, we do not back it up, and we cannot read it. If you delete the app without exporting, that data is gone.
When you ask Felt to read an entry, the text of that entry is sent over an encrypted connection to our server, which forwards it to OpenRouter, our AI inference provider, and returns the result to your phone.
We do not store the entry text. It exists in memory for the duration of the request and is not written to our database. What we record about the request is limited to: which endpoint was called, which model ran, how many tokens were used, what it cost, the HTTP status, and the time. That record contains none of your writing.
Once the text reaches OpenRouter it is subject to OpenRouter’s policies and those of the model provider they route to. We do not control their retention.
Felt contains no analytics, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party trackers. We do not profile you, we do not sell or share your information, and there is nothing in the app reporting your behaviour to anyone. This website sets no cookies and loads nothing from other servers.
Subscriptions are billed by Apple. We never see your card details. We are told only whether a subscription is active and which plan it is.
Email support@orbitabuilt.com from the address you signed up with, and we will erase your account and everything attached to it on our servers. To remove the entries held on your device, delete the app.
You can also ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct it, using the same address.
Account and subscription records are kept while your account exists. Request metadata is retained up to 12 months so we can investigate abuse and pay our bills. Consumed and expired sign-in tokens are retained as a record that the link was used.
Felt is not intended for anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has created an account, email us and we will remove it.
Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed outside your country, including in the United States.
If this policy changes materially, we will say so in the app before the change takes effect. The date at the top always reflects the current version.
